It would really be great to photograph a TEDxCapeTown event. I have followed TED's presentations when I first heard of the idea, and never looked back. To me it was, and is a great way to learn, to get inspired and to hopefully inspire, and it was learning from the best of the best. And it was free. This was totally unheard of in the world, and something quite special. When I first heard about it developing the 'x' arm, expanding into countries and providing 'local' minds to express their ideas and explore new frontiers, I was stoked.

Jonathan Anzuluni

I describe myself as an enthusiastic hobbyist Photographer. the reason being, I enjoy doing photography as a hobby and I have great respect for those who do it professionally. I did not attend some formal classroom or a school of Photography to do what I do now, this is basically a cocktail made out of: love for the camera, creative mind, an eye for images and a passion to frame everything that comes to my sight...then press the shutter button.

In simple terms, I felt in love with Photography. My style involves everything that need to be photographed. Which is basically nothing more than; observe....then shoot. I have not adopted a specific style since there is much to discover in this endless Universe.

Mutha FM

The name “Mutha” is pronounced ‘Mother’ and is derived from the youth culture term for mother. (The Mother City)

MUTHA FM showcases the passion of the Mother city & the diverse talents that enrich it, streaming 24 hours a day; 7 days a week live on the internet and on internet mobile phones. The station offers you SA’s top DJ’s & artists who are the leaders in their respective genres of music, many of whom are recognized both nationally & internationally.

The founders of Mutha FM have been a part of the South African nightlife scene for over two decades building and priding themselves on passion of good music and quality entertainment. The station has a huge manifesto of electronic and alternative music styles to amuse the online community.

Mutha FM is a next generation broadcast platform that is working to create an environment that is fully interactive. The platform offers a real alternative from mainstream commercialism, enhancing multi level communication & user interactions on one network. As radio stations forgot the real reasons why people listen to music and focused on commercial unit sales, the enthusiasm to have a progressive radio station like Mutha FM grew and the idea to represent to the music industry.

Dance music is a part of the lives of many generations of clubbers in South Africa. Mutha FM was conceptualized to raise the bar and set an example for the youth, as they become a part of global dance culture. The standard has been set and the people’s expectations need to be met.

This is a new media broadcast channel, creating an environment that is fully interactive and offering a real alternative choice of music to people, enhancing multi level communication on one network and allowing businesses to reach their desired target market.

MUTHA FM IS DIFFERENT

The music you hear on Mutha FM you are likely to hear nowhere else. That is because Mutha FM promotes young progressive musicians with a new school of thought and do not focus on unit sales to determine what gets played.

It is electronic, yet ready to Rock n’ Roll. It is Underground and yet Global. It is new yet experienced. And it is definitely the alternative choice.

This is the future, welcome to it!

media TEDxCapeTown 2012

We'd love to offer all media press passes and we truly appreciate your support, unfortunately we're not able to do so budget-wise, so here's the plan:

Media can earn a media pass, by interviewing the team, and/or some of the speakers and write an article/produce multimedia prior to the event. From this we can see the quality of the work, and may decide to allocate a media pass - we will only allocate three in total.

Alternatively you are welcome to attend the event as a paying audience member and blog about it in your own capacity afterwards, being respectful to the difference between TED and TEDx. Please see the TED & TEDx press guidelines here: tedxcapetown.org/media
